Man Claims He Kidnapped A Police Dog By Luring It Away Using Sausages

A simple trespassing call took a weird turn in Kentucky after the suspect admitted to kidnapping a police dog. When a Henry County sheriff's deputy arrived at the scene, he found 26-year-old Brandon Harmon, who asked for a ride so he could identify a weed trimmer he claimed was stolen.

The deputy drove Harmon to the location but quickly determined the weed trimmer was not the one that had been stolen. That's when Harmon asked the officer about a police dog that had been reported missing on August 8. While the dog was recovered later that month, investigators had no idea who had taken it. At that point, Harmon admitted he used Vienna sausages to lure the dog away from a deputy's fenced-in property.

Harmon was taken into custody and is facing charges of theft by unlawful taking and second-degree criminal trespassing. He did not tell the officer why he lured the dog away.
