According to an article at Consequence of Sound, around 300 high school kids took part in a "beer pong fest" tournament near Lakeway, Texas on Saturday, June 27th. Several attendees have already tested positive for COVID-19, with others showing symptoms and waiting for their results.
The local health system is struggling to contain the outbreak because of the size of the gathering. With that number of people exposed and going their separate ways, the city's mayor says proper contact tracing just isn't possible.
These are exactly the types of large gathering we are being asked to avoid. The state of Texas has emerged as one of the country’s biggest COVID-19 hotspots in recent weeks, with over 200,000 confirmed cases as of today.
